I love my church. Something about watching something birthed from nothing more than a dream makes it special to the dreamer. I realize that we are not the biggest or the richest, but there are some good people that are in love with God and, in turn, learning to love one another.
All that said, I rarely invite people to my church. I guess that I always assume that they know they are welcome to come. Everyone knows my role as a pastor. Shouldn’t they know that they can join us anytime they want?
Lazy…I am just plain lazy…
Or afraid…maybe I am afraid that if I put myself out there over something I really care about, things might get weird if it doesn’t work out. Maybe they will think that I am weird…or weirder than they thought.
Either way, this Sunday I have challenged my congregation (and myself) to bring someone with them to church. As a result, I have actually asked co-workers to come and…a few have said they would (it is important that I don’t stink this Sunday).
It is my hope that others have done the same. Will all the people that I invite show up? Likely not. But what if they did. Is our message of faith, hope, and love worth taking the chance with someone?
Yep. Its worth it.
Consider yourself invited. If you need the info, click the Four Hills Church tab.
See you on Sunday.
P.S. – On Monday, I will resume normal posting. I don’t want you to think you are going to get a commercial for our church every time you stop in and visit.
